The One Where They Get Back Together: Fans cry over ‘Friends’ reunion special

Everyone’s favorite chaotic six-piece friend group recently reunited for a special on HBO Max. Even after 17 years off air, the cast of ‘Friends’ proved that their stories and characters will remain in the heart of millions of viewers, just like reconnecting with an old pal.

The reunion special titled ‘The One Where They Get Back Together’ premiered last May 27, and we’re definitely not over it. Fans of the sitcom from all over world came together to watch the much awaited event — and share their live reactions. It was a roller coaster of emotions to say the least.

According to other sources, the initial cut of the ‘Friends’ special ran at an estimated 3 hours compared to the 1 hour and 40 minutes of what was released. Some moments that we missed out on were of Jennifer Anniston tasting Rachel’s Thanksgiving trifle, and a fashion show of iconic outfits (or turkey headpieces) from the show.

Perhaps the most surprising revelation from the special was when Jennifer Anniston and David Schwimmer shared how they both had feelings for each other while filming the show. However, neither of them pursued anything further than a crush. They instead expressed it through their relationship on screen as Rachel and Ross.

That explains Rachel and Ross’ palpable chemistry (and why they couldn’t seem to stay away from each other).

We’ll definitely be watching ‘Friends’ in a different light now.

I think this calls for another binge watch session. Or how about a quiz to truly prove if you’re a fan of the show?
