Indonesian-American singer, songwriter and producer, Stephanie Poetri releases, “IRL”, her third single off her forthcoming EP ‘AM : PM’, via 88rising, distributed by 12Tone Music. “IRL” is an upbeat daydream of a song that ruminates on the tumultuous year that
was 2020 and the people that have brightened Stephanie’s year along the way.
To complement the single, Stephanie has also dropped the music video for “IRL” today. The self-directed, edited, and produced music video is a celebration of Stephanie’s friendships as she sources footage from loved ones around the globe and compiles those memories into a scrapbook of the people she loves doing the things that make them happy. The “IRL” music video brings together everyone from Stephanie’s mom and childhood friends to active YouTubers AmandaRachLee and urmomashley to her growing Twitch community with 39Daph, Irenealing, igumdrop, her Twitch mods, and many more. The music video will be in support of GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund to support those around the world battling COVID on the front lines.
“I wanted to make a song for all of the people that really helped get me through the year as a celebration of all of the good memories we had. It was my way of saying thank you, I appreciate you and love you to my loved ones, friends, family and my fans! And I hope this song can do that for other people as well – a song you can use to celebrate the people that carried you through the year and how much happiness they brought into your life” explains Stephanie when asked about “IRL”.
Through “IRL”, Stephanie utilizes both her creative skills and thoughtful anecdotes to cement herself as a complete artist and one to watch this year.
Scheduled to release this March, ‘AM : PM’ is a collection of light hearted daydreams, afternoon ruinations and solemn midnight queries that have passed through Stephanie’s vibrant and ever active creative mind over the past year and a half. In her debut EP, Stephanie opens up the safe haven of her mind to her fans and invites them into her thoughts, hopes, dreams, hesitations, and dreams. The flow of the tracklist represents the duality between the hopeful, energized, and light emotions that can arise during the morning contrasted with the reflective and sometimes melancholy tone of the evening and the tracklisting is arranged to bring fans through the sonic journey from day to night.
