The Initiative PH’s Project Katipunan presents Project WISH Co(VID)

Being a youth-run volunteer organization that coordinates sustainable programs for different communities in the Philippines since 2016, The Initiative PH stands for a generation of students from different universities across the country, empowered by a spirit of volunteerism transcending boundaries of class, religion, and ethnicity.

Project WISH – which stands for “Walang Iwanan Sa Hapagkainan” – is a sustainable feeding program that was established in 2019 and is considered to be the first project to have ever been spearheaded by Project Katipunan, an initiative that aims to alleviate the problems and conditions of the less resilient communities situated along Katipunan Avenue.

Given the onslaught of COVID-19, an increasing number of individuals have become more deeply affected by the challenges of attaining reliable access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food for their daily consumption. Such a phenomenon has become even more apparent within the communities found along Katipunan.

In light of the current health and economic crisis brought about by the pandemic, Project WISH intends to carry out its objective of seeking to address food insecurity by launching Project WISH Co(VID) – a COVID-19 response initiative geared towards raising funds to be able to provide access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious meals to twenty (20) families from Daan Tubo UP Campus, Area 1, and Area 3.

This initiative aims to ease the struggle of providing food to families whose livelihoods have been deeply affected by the pandemic and assist them until they can return to their normal economic activities.

To ensure the consistent accumulation and collection of donation pledges for the project, the team behind Project WISH aims to organize and launch a series of giveaways for the purpose of incentivizing its potential donors in order to further encourage and motivate everyone to keep donating throughout the project’s duration. Consistent donors of the program are eligible to receive prizes from the project’s sponsors.

With this, any and all help would be greatly appreciated. For more details, please kindly refer to the poster above. You may also access this link if you wish to see updates on where your donation is going: https://bit.ly/PKWISHTransparencyTracker.

For any inquiries, you may contact Gabrielle Maiquez (Department Head of Project Katipunan) through 0936 971 1341.

For sponsorships and partnerships, you may reach Bianca Whitaker (External Relations Head of Project Katipunan) at 0917 318 8389 / [email protected].

This edition of Project WISH is co-presented by Herschel Supply Co., Beng-beng Philippines, CalCheese Wafer, CalCheese Cheese Choco Wafer, Wafello Chocolate Wafer, POP! INQUIRER.NET, BusinessWorld’s SparkUp, DZUP 1602, WhenInManila.com, and in cooperation with Gibi Shoes.

Co-presented as well with UP Mathematics Club, AIESEC in DLSU-M, and also brought to you by Ateneo Special Education Society; this project shall likewise be working closely with one of its longtime food partners, Locco Cielo. Furthermore, the team behind Project Katipunan shall also be working alongside KUM (Kaisahang Ugnayan ng Mamamayan ng Daan Tubo), which shall serve as the food distribution partner for this segment of Project WISH.
