This year is truly a test of times where various institutions are thinking of innovative ways they can adapt to the new normal. Being the pioneer of innovation, the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde through the Center for Student Life-Student Involvement Unit, the Benilde Committee on Student Involvement (BCSI), and the Accredited and Recognized Student Organizations (ARSO) welcomed Benilde froshies and upperclassmen to a whole new dimension in Student Involvement Week 1 (SI Week 1).
Hosted every term by BCSI, SI Week seamlessly serves as a recruitment activity and promotional event for all the Accredited and Recognized Student Organizations of Benilde. Throughout this previous week, the organizations had showcased their activities and services to the student body in order to entice old and new students to step up and join their organization. For the Academic Year 2020-2021, forty (40) organizations opened their doors to embrace diverse talents and offer core competencies to the Benildean community with the goal of imbuing the Benildean expressions and core values.
Being the main coordinating body of all duly accredited and recognized student organizations in Benilde, the challenge for BCSI was to bring the #BSORGLIFE experience from the campus to the different homes of the Benildean community. With this BCSI has taken the leap to implement various initiatives that encourage participation and inclusivity from the Benildean community.
SI Week 1 delved into the theme “Resurgence” which means to rise again despite the challenges and difficulties the world has been facing lately; a recognition that it is time to rise from the occasion and claim resurgence.
From October 12 to 17, 2020, SI Week 1 took pride in launching its website, hosting its live-streaming event for the opening and closing ceremonies, and featuring our beloved student leaders’ experiences on Facebook.
