Ever wondered if Japanese virtual singer Hatsune Miku would ever grace the country? Well, she finally did.

The ‘Hatsune Miku Expo 2025’ was a dream come true for many longtime Filipino fans, marking the first ever MIKU EXPO in the Philippines.
Fans from all walks of life—adults, teenagers, children, groups of friends, families, cosplaying or donning Hatsune Miku related merchandise—filled the Mall of Asia Arena for a one-night only concert headlined by their beloved virtual idol Hatsune Miku along with other VOCALOID characters.
Holding their glowsticks, the audience showcased their “wotagei,” Japan’s version of fan chants and light stick dancing which illuminated the arena with green and multicolored lights.

Appearing on the center LED screen, Miku, as fondly called by her fans, opened the show with ‘Artifact,’ the Hatsune Miku Expo 2025’s official theme song, which instantly sent the crowd into a frenzy.
More than 20 hit VOCALOID songs
Miku and the other VOCALOID characters performed over 20 hit songs, consisting of solo stages, duets, and ensemble performances.
Miku performed popular songs such as ‘The Vampire’ by DECO*27, ‘Envy Catwalk’ by Tohma, ‘Deep-Sea Girl’ by Yuuyu-P, ‘Patchwork Staccato’ by toa, ’39’ by sasakure.UK.
Apart from this, she also performed some of her English tracks.
Produced by SAWTOWNE, ‘M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT!’ remained crowd favorite among Filipino fans. The renowned track previously won the ‘Hatsune Miku Expo 10th Anniversary’ song contest. Miku later invited her fans to sing along to ‘Intergalactic Bound,’ the official theme song for ‘Hatsune Miku Expo 2024’ in North America.
Miku, the official VOCALOID mascot, also performed other hits like ‘culture’ by Tsumiki, ‘Darling Dance’ by Kairiki Bear, ‘God-ish’ by PinocchioP, and ‘Satisfaction’ by kz.
Miku also wowed fans with an assortment of her outfit changes paired with her stunning dance moves.
Meanwhile, other VOCALOID characters also sent the audience into a pandemonium with their stages.
Kagamine Rin debuted in Manila with ‘Sweet Magic,’ followed by her boy counterpart Kagamine Len’s stage of ‘Telecaster B-Boy.’ Their performances immediately turned the arena into a sea of yellow lights.
MEIKO, in her red jacket and skirt, opened her stage with ‘Red Land Marker.’
Distinguished by his blue color palette and iconic blue muffler, KAITO began his stage with ‘Literacy.’
Megurine Luka, who donned a black dress with gold accents, spun gracefully when she performed ‘Double Lariat.’
Mid-show, the live band accompanying the characters was also introduced one by one.
Thrilling collabs and ensembles
Collaboration stages and ensemble became major highlights of the expo.
Kagamine Rin and Len performed ‘Roki’ by Mikito-P, prompting unified chants from the crowd.
MEIKO and KAITO followed with a duet of ‘Midnight Surf’ as the arena glowed in blue and red lights.
Miku the shared the stage with Megurine Luka for the well-loved ‘Ai Dee’ produced by Mitchie M, featuring Luka’s English rap.
Kagamine Rin and Len returned to the stage together with Miku for ‘shake it!’ by emon-Tes prompting the fans’ cute aggression toward the trio, where Len even somersaulted during their joint stage.
For the encore, Miku returned with ‘DECORATOR’ by kz, joined by the rest of the VOCALOID cast for a vibrant group finale.
Encore, Salamat Manila
Miku delighted fans by speaking Filipino during her ment, saying, “Handa na ba kayo?” and “Sabayan niyo ako ha?”
Filipino fans shook the venue chanting, “mou ikkai, mou ikkai,” (“one more time”) as they awaited the encore.
The Japanese line “mou ikkai, mou ikkai,” was an iconic line from the song ‘Rolling Girl,’ which was the expected first encore song.
Everyone welcomed wowaka’s ‘Rolling Girl’ as the crowd yet again chanted “mou ikkai, mou ikkai,” as part of the fan chant.
Miku closed the Manila expo with a legendary song produced by ryo titled, ‘Mel,’ the song that propelled VOCALOID into global recognition.

As the night ended, Miku bid farewell with a promise to meet her Filipino fans again. “Salamat Manila” flashed across the LED screen, marking a heartfelt close to an unforgettable evening.
