Odd One Out Productions (OOOPs), formerly known as by:THEATER (byTE) is a production house composed of student-artists from Batch 120 under De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Theater Arts program. They aim to cultivate a collaborative space for theatrical expression and storytelling using relevant Filipino-centric narratives.
This November, OOOPS will be staging “Bukas Na” which tells the story of 20-somethings where they seek love, dignity and identity through the worst drunk decision they’ve ever made: start a dropshipping business.
Written by Jay Crisostomo IV and directed by Jack Denzel Ganza, the story will revolve around these young adults as they realize the toxicity of the online marketplace as it seeps into their offline lives. Eventually, their friendship is put to the test. Tempers flare. Commitments falter. Suspicions of theft arise. How will these young upstarts untangle the mess they’ve put themselves in and realize that the doors to happiness have been open all along?
The play stars Coleen Aldana, Sam Dahilan, Kyle Confessor, Jannah Baniasia, Ethan Wong, Ysa Suaybaguio, Sum Sawamoto, Camille Sicam, and Gero Rojas.
“Bukas Na” will be staged live at the 5/F D+A Theater, Design and Arts Campus, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
The show will run from November 15 to 18 and 21, 2023. Show schedules are as follows:
Ticket prices are sold at PHP 350 (Regular) and PHP 400 (VIP) on weekdays, and PHP 450 (Regular) and PHP 500 (VIP) on the Saturday shows.
