Rain or shine, people braved the storm at the Belle de Jour (BDJ) Fair 2016 last October 16 at SM Mall of Asia, Music Hall. Despite the inclement weather, Bellas (or BDJ planner users), were present at the annual BDJ event filled with fun activities and inspiring talks from various speakers.
On it’s 11th year, BDJ continued their mission to encourage and empower Filipino women with the theme “Rise Above the Waves” – inspiring people that they can overcome the waves or challenges in their lives as long as they have the heart and courage to go on. In line with that, the event was also a fundraiser for the Grace to Be Born Maternity Home and Nursery, which provides shelters to unwed pregnant mothers, and the LIPAD project of MKFI and USAID, which empowers non-literates in Muslim communities.
BDJ Fair 2016 featured speakers like Katrina Gumabao, Abbygale Arenas-De Leon, Nanette Medved-Po, Maxene Magalona, Kate Alvarez, and Bea Constantino who gave inspiring talks on how to overcome certain “waves” in our lives such as workout laziness, insecurities, self-indulgence, low self-esteem, depression, and beauty and fashion glitches respectively.
Here are some of the highlights of the BDJ Fair 2016:
