UP Manila Belle is an organization that empowers women through artistry, femininity, and heart. It is an all-girls cultural group that develops women in the performing arts specifically singing, dancing, and modeling. The Bellas also represent the University of the Philippines Manila in various inter-school competitions. The organization also aims to give back the community through holding socio-civic programs for the disadvantaged sectors.
This year the UP-Manila Belle will hold Bellissima: HerStory. Bellissima: Herstory is the first ever UP Manila Belle concert. In celebration of the International Women’s Month on March 2020, the said event aims to highlight women empowerment. It gears towards sharing the different stories of women – the triumphs, struggles, successes, and current conditions. Bellissima will also attempt to challenge the impossible beauty standards society has set for women.
The uniqueness of each Bella will be emphasized to showcase beauty in diversity. The members of the organization and invited guests shall be performing music, dance, and model pieces in line with the said theme.
The expected number of attendees for this event is at least 200 up to 450 people excluding the performers. It will be held on March 07, 2020 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Auditorium in Padre Faura. Registration will start at 5:30 pm. Tickets are sold at Php 200.00.
