Titik Poetry to launch its first ever Cavite-wide spoken word competition ‘Etibakbakan 2020: Ani ng Sining’

In celebration of the National Arts Month, Titik Poetry will launch its biggest event for this year called ETIBAKBAKAN – A CAVITE-WIDE SPOKEN WORD COMPETITION

This will be the first-time ever poetry slam that will be held in the 7 cities of Cavite namely Bacoor City, Imus City, Dasmariñas City, General Trias, Tagaytay City, Trece Martires, and (Kawit) Cavite City. Our theme for the month of February is “Ani ng Sining,” celebrating a bountiful harvest of Philippine arts, as well as inspiring Filipinos to immerse and appreciate the diversity and creativity of our culture.

The elimination rounds will be held on these dates:

February 1 – Eco Park, Bacoor City

February 2 – Inbox Food Hub, Imus City

February 9 – The Food Park, Dasmarinas (General Trias City)

February 14 – Promenade des Dasmarinas, Dasmariñas City

February 15 – Tagaytay City February 16 – Trece Martires City

February 22 – Aguinaldo Shrine Park, Kawit (Cavite City)

All the winners from each leg will compete and represent their respective cities in the final slam on March 7. Only one will be hailed as the first-ever Cavite Spoken Word Poetry Champion, with the cash prize of P15,000 — all made possible by our major sponsor, Premio Ramon Felipe Basiño – Breis.

TITIK POETRY, founded by Verlin Santos, is an art collective that aims to use poetry as a form of entertainment, as well as a platform for education. Considered to be one of the most influential art groups in the Cavite, they have built their name in the spoken word scene across the country as they exposed their art to build a culture of freedom in expressing thoughts and emotions through poems and other art forms.

All proceeds from the event will be used to build a small community library, bookshelves, and book boxes. This is an initiative of Titik Poetry through Project Sigya.

Project Sigya is also open for any cash donations, school materials, and books. You may contact Titik Poetry through 09280098733 or their Facebook Page.
