Wonky the rabbit gets new home after charming with its ‘unicorn’ ear

A rabbit in the United Kingdom has found a new home, thanks to his unique feature: one ear placed unusually close to the middle of his head. It flops forward or raises up, making him appear to be a unicorn.

The 4-year-old rabbit is fittingly named Wonky and is in the care of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), particularly the Milton Keynes & North Bucks branch in Buckinghamshire, England.

The group posted pictures of Wonky on Facebook last Dec. 4 for his adoption. The RSPCA said the rabbit needed “large, secure housing” or should have space to roam indoors. It also said to tend to Wonky’s social needs, like having a female rabbit or constant interaction.

Wonky attracted media interest even from countries outside the U.K. By Dec. 8, he had been reserved for adoption.

It comes at no surprise — how can anyone resist those blue eyes and oddly-placed ear?

A “unicorn dog” charmed the internet too last November. A puppy named Narwhal with a tail-like growth on his head attracted hundreds of adoption applications. However, the group who rescued him, Mac’s Mission, has decided to keep him. JB
