Men’s razor brand encourages guys to ‘shave off toxic masculinity’ in latest ad

The concept of toxic masculinity continues to resurface as normative behavior in our society. This issue focuses on the unpleasant behavior practiced by most men, especially against the opposite sex – females. It is widely expected that men should be physically strong and assertive while women are said to be emotional and submissive.

But we’re not saying that all men are toxic because the “macho” attitude is totally different from “being a man”.

And this is what the famous shaving brand implied when they released their latest ad on toxic gender roles. The commercial further challenges men to stop other men from bullying, harassment, and mistreatment.

The brand’s tagline, “The Best A Man Can Get” was highlighted in the commercial as it encouraged men to be at their best by changing the bigoted belief that “boys will be boys.”

The advertisement is an eye-opener for everyone, as it includes true to life situations such as catcalling, aggressive behaviors, physical abuse, and bullying.

Netizens also expressed their sentiments about the recent advertisement. They addressed the serious societal issues discussed in the video and not about shaving, per se.

“The boys of today will be the men of tomorrow” – and as the building blocks of the next generation, they should be held accountable for their actions.
