The Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) and its flagship program that promotes digital literacy, DigiBayanihan, organized the Ten Photos to Shake the World (TPSW) 2018 photo contest to highlight the value of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Submission of entries is open from July 17 to September 2, 2018.
Established in 2012, TPSW aims to raise awareness on the most pressing development issues and to highlight viable solutions through compelling photographs. Now on its 7th year, TPSW continues to serve the same goals with the theme, “Digitalizing Development: Innovations for Inclusive Societies.” Participants are encouraged to capture how digital technology improves the lives of youth, women, rural communities, and persons with disabilities.
TPSW 2018 is open to professional and non-professional photographers from the Asia-Pacific region. Entries will be accepted until September 2, 2018 at 12:00PM HKT/SGT/PHT. The awarding ceremony will be held on September 16, in conjunction with the SDG Youth Camp Gala Dinner. The SDG Youth Camp is a venue for participating global start-ups to collaborate and materialize their ideas through various mentoring and business coaching in the duration of the Camp.
Hozun Paik, one of the event organizers said, “TPSW is a great venue to align creative expression with empowering solutions to the most pressing development issues. “ Registration to the photo contest is free and participants have a chance to win as much as $500, plus additional prizes from Canon.
