De La Salle University once again unveils its Frosh Welcoming 2k17, an annually conducted event organized by the University’s Council of Student Organizations (CSO) that aims to recognize the new members of the Lasallian community with a theme of Frosh in the City.
The celebration consists of an orientation on academic and extra-curricular concerns, an introduction to various Lasallian modules, as well as the Lasallian Reflection Framework, and counselling and career services, respectively. A campus tour will be conducted to let the frosh familiarize themselves with the estimated 6 hectares of land that DLSU proudly stands upon, as well as the 8 colleges and schools, and 11 research centers that the University houses. Likewise, various groups from the Culture and Arts Office (CAO) will entertain the incoming Lasallians with their well-prepared presentations. The alma mater song and other Lasallian cheers will also be introduced.
As a culminating activity, the frosh walk, a widely acclaimed favorite of every Lasallian that ever experienced it, will take place where the frosh are given the chance to walk through St. Joseph Hall, as a parade of the University’s accredited organizations, various sponsors, and fellow Lasallians, await them. The tradition conveys that all the frosh are given a loot bag, where they can put the freebies that they have collected.
Throughout the years, DLSU has been honoring the continuously increasing members of its society, and this frosh welcoming event truly lives up to its vision of building a community of leaders that genuinely establish the Lasallian core values of faith, service and communion.
