Following his sold out UK + EU headline tour, rising Australian pop artist Jude York today unveils his pulsating new single ‘Afternote’ via Warner Music Australia. Listen HERE. The whimsical disco inspired synth-pop track continues the theatrical direction of previous singles ‘Camilla’, ‘Those Were The Days’, ‘Monaco’,and ‘Cashew’. Written with Swedish collaborators.
Nicki Adamsson (Tove Lo, NCT 127) and Litens (Icona Pop, John Newman), the energetic song is inspired by a deep longing to be someone’s romantic ending and main character in their story.
Of the song Jude says, “Afternote really began as a love letter, written out of the fear that someone could move on without me, and relegate me to a ‘story they tell their friends’ – an afternote. It was a really scary thought. Ultimately this song is for anyone brave enough to ask to be someone else’s happily ever after. Every night on tour, I’ve been giving fans the opportunity to hand-write and submit secret love letters and it’s been magical to see how this song has already inspired the most vulnerable confessions. I’m so excited for the world to feel my most earnest love and joy through this new chapter – with love Jude x.”
The multi-talented singer, songwriter, and performer has built a global community of fans spanning over 80 million global streams, and over 2.1 million combined social media followers. Viral videos of Jude performing with his mum introduced him to a brand new audience, which then brought him to performing ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ at the 2025 TikTok Awards Australia and being nominated for Video Of The Year.
Having just finished his sold out international Once Upon A Tour, Jude dazzled crowds in Hamburg, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Zurich, Paris, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Glasgow. He has returned home for a World Opera Day performance in Perth at His Majesty’s Theatre this Saturday 24 October, and a headline show in Brisbane as part of MELT Festival at Powerhouse Theatre on Thursday 29 October.
In March 2027 Jude will join Niall Horan for his Dinner Party Live On Tour in arenas in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Full ticket details HERE. Jude also recently completed a songwriting trip in America, which saw him doing a few days with Meghan Trainor.
Originally from Toowoomba, Queensland, Jude’s musical journey began performing alongside his opera singer mother before evolving from intimate jazz bars to major international festival stages. He has performed at festivals like Mighty Hoopla London, Sziget Festival, Frequency Festival, and Orange Warsaw Festival sharing stages alongside Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Post Malone, and competed in Eurovision Australia Decides in 2022,
Known for his emotionally honest songwriting, cinematic live performances, and self-produced sound, Jude creates music that captures the nostalgia, hope, and complexity of modern life. His ability to transform deeply personal experiences into universally relatable stories has earned him a devoted and fast-growing audience across Australia, United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States.
