Fans who clamored against the sudden cancellation of the popular TV series Young Justice in 2013 can now celebrate as Warner Bros. Animation announced that the show will return for a third season called Young Justice: Outsiders.
Through its first and second seasons released in 2010 and 2012, respectively, viewers have seen how each character of the series underwent transformation. Not only did they look a little older in the second season, but also evolved in their roles (such as Robin who became Nightwing). This proved that they are no longer just sidekicks to iconic superheroes, and that they have the capacity to become heroes and heroines themselves.
The creators promised that the long wait for the third season will be worth it. Viewers will see their fave superheroes become more mature and don new costumes for an edgier style.
Further, according to DC, the whole show will carry a more adult tone compared to its previous seasons.
Since #YJ3 is on a streaming service rather than a channel, #YoungJustice will skew more adult to keep up with the characters as they age.

They have also added new characters for this installment: Arrowette, Spoiler, and Thirteen (which is an original character created for the series). Details about their specific roles are yet to be revealed.
For now, we just have to find out how the third season will set itself apart from its predecessors once it is released. But one thing the showrunners assured the viewers, there are more seasons lined up for Young Justice.
Yay! We definitely can’t wait!
