‘Wicked’ fans express concern over stars’ drastic weight loss

The internet is abuzz with the long-awaited release of ‘Wicked: For Good,’ which hit theaters last November 21. But along with fans’ discussions on the film’s plot and musical numbers, they also noticed the drastic weight loss of some of the stars, expressing concern over their health.

Wicked's actors drastic weight loss

‘Wicked’ fans were worried and alarmed by the “suddenly frail appearances” of Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Michelle Yeoh during press tours and red carpet shows for the second part of the film adaptation.

On X (formerly Twitter), many have been comparing the actors’ looks before and after the production of ‘Wicked: For Good,’ which seemingly showed the dramatic changes in their appearances.  Others even went on to question the working conditions during the film’s shooting.

This isn’t the first time that the stars, especially Grande and Erivo, were criticized for the extreme change in appearances.

Earlier this year, Grande drew concern when she appeared at the BAFTA Film Awards looking shockingly slim.

At the time, a source close to Grande shared with Page Six that her “grueling shoot schedule and marathon press tour” took a toll on her physical health, on top of her past traumatic experiences.

In 2023, Grande addressed the concern of her fans, saying that “there are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful.” The multi-award-winning singer and actress even went on to say not to comment on other people’s bodies, as they might have been going through something.

“Even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with,” she said in a TikTok post.
