PASIA World 2025 centers on supply chain ethics, excellence, and e-enablement

The Procurement and Supply Chain Institute of Asia (PASIA) held its annual PASIA World, the premier and largest supply chain, procurement, and logistics conference in the ASEAN region, last November 13 to 14, 2025 at the Manila Marriot Hotel.

Industry experts, leaders, global supply chain heads, and private sector innovators attended the event and shared their insights, real-life strategies, and best practices through plenary, panel, roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, exhibit booths, as well as invaluable networking and business opportunities.

With the theme “Leading Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics Innovations Amid Potentiality and Disruption: Reinforcing Ethics, Excellence, and e-Enablement,” this year’s conference tackled technological shifts, geopolitical instability, and the urgent need for ethical leadership.PASIA world

In his opening remarks, PASIA’s Chairman and CEO Charlie Villaseñor highlighted the role of the supply chain in the industry.

“It’s to deliver shareholder value. At the end of the day, it’s about [the] quality of our products and services, our execution, the margins, [and] the amount of level of service that we give in terms of customer satisfaction,” Villaseñor said.

However, the emergence of global crises reshapes supply chains and the industry can’t rely on resilience alone.

“Reverse globalization and wars are quite imminent. We may be here trying to think that everything is okay. [But] not everything is okay as far as I’m concerned,” he expressed.

The CEO emphasized the urgent need for ethical transformation and innovative capabilities in procurement and supply chain operations.

Atty. Agaton Teodoro Uvero from the Bureau of Customs then gave updates regarding customs’ reforms and challenges as global trading rules continue to shift. He emphasized the need for modernization and alignment with international standards to support a more resilient national supply chain.

To begin the discussions, Jonathan Ravelas presented the 2026 Philippines’ economic outlook.

A panel discussion was also held at the conference with Fareye’s Gautam Kumar, Ayala Logistics’ Christian Oliver Dy, and Fast Logistics’ Leonardo Sacamos Jr. They talked about using AI to shrink logistics costs and boost Gross Domestic Product impact in the Philippines.

Michael Tagle of Globe Business discussed the future of supply chain leadership, while Dan Lachica from Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. presented trade and tariff.

Professor Ben Teehanke from De la Salle University, delivered a session on responsible AI use in the supply chain and shared insights on its ethical risks.

After that, another round of panel discussion on procurement excellence featured Robin Jackson, Martin Schereiner, and Rai de Jesus.

The session continued with several speakers such as Philip Marsham of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) which detailed the critical role of ICTSI in future-proofing logistics, and Carl Kimball of Zycus with a discussion on agentic AI in procurement.

Robin Jackson of ADR International informed delegates on how sourcing will look like in 2025, while CJ Garcia of Monde Nissin spoke on next-generation logistics.

The day one of the conference ended with Pek Hoong Choong from Steel Asia with a talk on sustainable steel supply.

PASIA World 2025 delivered a comprehensive look at how AI, ethics, economic shifts, and sustainability are reshaping the supply chain leadership, signaling the intent to guide the Philippine supply chain sector through its most transformative era yet.

“We want to really elevate the maturity of this country because we believe that if our organizations are good, the economy is going to be better. If our economy is going to be good, our country is going to be really more than good enough,” Villaseñor expressed.
