Pop sensation Bruno Mars is once again making waves as he was recognized by Spotify to be the first artist to reach 150 million monthly listeners.
Apart from this historical feat, Mars also maintains his spot as the number one artist on the streaming platform. Shortly after, Mars shared on his Instagram story Spotify’s announcement, “Keep Streaming! I’l be out of debt in no time,” he humorously captioned.

The Grammy award-winning artist surely didn’t miss an opportunity to poke fun at last year’s rumor that he was sinking in a $50 million debt which he allegedly owed to MGM casinos. However, such was already debunked by MGM Resorts, claiming that Mars owed no gambling debt at their casinos.
Rising above the rumors, the singer-songwriter was definitely riding the highs of his career over the previous year as he broke streaming records after a series of successful collaborations. It started in August of last year when he announced his collaboration with Lady Gaga in ‘Die With a Smile.’ With two industry icons in one song, it was no surprise that the track became the fastest song to hit one billion streams in Spotify history.
Over a month later, Mars once again took the internet by storm when Rosé from the Korean girl group Blackpink announced her collaboration with him with the song ‘APT.’ The song, based on a Korean drinking game, bolstered Mars as an artist with the top two fastest songs to hit one billion streams.
The Fil-Am artist has been a sensation in the music industry for a while now with 17 of his other songs which similarly hit one billion Spotify streams with ‘That’s What I Like,’ Locked Out of Heaven,’ Just the Way You Are,’ to name a few.
With chart-topping hits and success at every turn, fans will be eagerly anticipating what Mars has in store for the year ahead, all while his songs play on repeat.
