Benny Blanco’s ‘unexpected’ feature in Sexiest Men Alive issue leaves social media confused

American songwriter-producer Benny Blanco is getting trolled by social media users for his People’s Magazine feature for the Sexiest Men Alive issue.

Hours before John Krasinski’s pick being the People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2024 title, social media users got confused when an article by the magazine featured Blanco in the issue.

“The jumpscare I had thinking Benny Blanco was the OFFICIAL sexiest man alive,” one X (formerly known as Twitter) user said.

Another social media user said, “The rage and confusion that just went through my body when I thought Benny Blanco was being announced sexiest man alive… I’m gonna need a minute.”

“Trump getting elected, Ariana not getting nominated for aoty (Album of the Year) at the Grammys, Benny Blanco named sexiest man alive…I need this month to end QUICK…” a third X user said.

The 36-year-old producer had arguably gone from someone notable behind the scenes to just simply famous after he and singer Selena Gomez started dating and went public with their relationship in 2023.

Blanco gushed about his love for his girlfriend in an interview as one of People’s sexy men for 2024.

“I have a true best friend that I get to do everything in the world with, and every day is the best day of my life,” he said.

The 36-year-old producer is behind in some of the greatest hits of the 2000s, namely Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, Rihanna’s Diamonds, and Maroon 5’s Payphone.
