Bruno Mars and BLACKPINK’s Rosé earn new personal streaming records with ‘APT.’

Bruno Mars and Rosé of BLACKPINK have set a new global Spotify chart record for their collaboration on the song “APT.”

Rosé’s most recent single has achieved remarkable milestones on the United States’ top streaming services. In addition to setting a new record on Apple Music, she became the first female K-pop singer to crack the number-one spot on Spotify US.

It’s noteworthy that Bruno Mars also achieved a new personal record for daily Spotify streams. In a single day, the song “Die With a Smile,” which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, received 11.6 million streams, setting a previous personal best.

The most recent statistics indicate that Bruno Mars received 14.18 million streams in a single day for his collaboration with Rosé’s “APT.”

The song draws inspiration from the popular drinking game in Korea called “Apartment Game.” Back in September, the K-pop idol was spotted at the Yves Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week teaching the same game.
For context, the game’s leader shouts out a number while the players pile their hands on top of one another. Then, starting at the bottom, the participants remove their hands one at a time when various numbers are called out.

If a participant repeats a number that has already been called or draws their hand out on the number the leader called, they will be punished by having to drink. Furthermore, both players are required to drink if they simultaneously call out the same number.

The K-pop idol’s new song had several accolades prior to the recent achievement. “APT” became the fastest duet to reach 10 million views on YouTube this year. The song ranked No.1 in 51 countries, which includes France, Australia, and the Philippines.

Rosé’s full-length studio album will be released this December 6. The upcoming album will feature 12 tracks.
