Jojo Siwa explains controversial bedazzled bulge outfit, compares it to Harry Styles’s Vogue dress

Former Dance Moms star and American singer-dancer Jojo Siwa speaks about her controversial outfit in her recent photoshoot with Lady Gunn Magazine.

In an episode of Talk Tuah with Hailey Welch titled ‘I’M FIGHTING WITH JOJO SIWA,’ the 21-year-old singer explained why she chose to wear a bedazzled bulge and a top with nipples.

“It was something I’ve never seen before. Like the bulge, dude, where the f*** did you get that stone bulge bulges?[…] we were just giving a little spice, a little gender-bend, a little you can be anything you want to be,” Siwa said when asked about the controversial fit.

She then proceeded to compare her outfit choice to English singer-songwriter Harry Styles’s controversial Vogue cover in 2020.

“It’s kind of like back in the day when Harry Styles wore a dress. Obviously, wearing a bulge is a little different than wearing just a dress. But I think you should do more of that though,” the singer said.

The singer added that she likes to be for the people who are different, don’t fit in, and for the people who are afraid to take risks.

“And I feel like being that person, I have to go as far as I possibly can into the risk zone […] I have to explore the risk zone to like, see what it’s like,” she said.

The singer’s take on her photoshoot comparison to Styles’s Vogue cover garnered mixed reactions from social media users across X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Isn’t there a difference between wearing a dress and wearing a stone bulge?” one X user said on Pop Crave’s post about her statement.

Another social media user said, “Let me hold your hand when I tell you this JoJo…it’s not the same thing. Not at all.”

Lady Gunn published Jojo Siwa’s cover story on September 25, 2024.
