From capturing people’s hearts with their cinematic and larger-than-life songs online, Crash Adams has finally brought their charm and feel-good tunes to life during their inaugural show in the Philippines.
On Saturday, August 17, the Canadian pop duo, consisting of Rafaele “Crash” Massarelli and Vince “Adams” Sasso, gave their Filipino fans a fun experience after performing at a mall in Quezon City.
Dressed in their signature suits, the duo kicked off their Manila concert with their 2023 song, “Caroline,” which immediately sent the crowd’s energy through the roof.
The venue continued to be filled with more enthusiasm as Crash Adams performed their back-to-back hits, including “Destination,” “California Girl,” “Hotel Party,” “Good Side,” and “Somewhere in Vegas,” among others.
They also gave their fans some surprises as they performed a cover of “Stargazing” by Myles Smith and brought out Lola Amour’s vocalist Pio Dumayas to perform a new track called “8 Days,” which is set to be released on August 23.
Crash Adams later on called all the members of Lola Amour to perform Pinoy’s band hit song, “Fallen.”
They then capped off the night with a performance of “Give Me A Kiss,” giving them a night that they won’t truly forget—which was Crash Adams’ goal from the very beginning.
Making sure that their first Manila show would be a memorable one for both Crash Adams and their fans, the duo curated a specific and special setlist that would truly capture the hearts and attentions of the Filipino crowd.
In a press conference prior to their show, the duo revealed that they wanted to give back the love and high energy shown by their fans through their songs.
“First thing [that we did in choosing what songs to perform], you got to look at the songs Filipinos love the most,” Sasso shared.
Massarelli added: “We know that Filipinos are high-energy people and you, guys, want to have fun. And for us, we just want to give you a party.”
The duo also shared that if they were to describe Filipinos using their songs, it would be “Give Me A Kiss” and “Hotel Party” because of the love, hospitality, and warm welcome they have shown them throughout their stay in the country.
“You, guys, are full of love and full of hospitality, and at the same time, you’re all energetic, and those songs best represent you,” Massarelli said.
When asked about their dream collaborations, the duo revealed wanting to work alongside indie local band Lola Amour and multi-award-winning artist Miley Cyrus.
“I would say in the Philippines, Lola Amour because they’re a great band. We love their music and we think they’re really fantastic,” Massarelli shared. “In general, we would like to collaborate with Miley Cyrus. I think Miley Cyrus would sound great with us.”
Crash Adams began their journey into the music scene in 2020. The two quickly rose to prominence when a clip of their street performance for their song “Caroline” quickly went viral on TikTok which garnered over 49 million views.
Since then, the duo’s popularity soared higher as they continued to capture people’s attention with their melodic and catchy songs and feel-good social media content.
The duo’s career was elevated to new heights after signing with Warner Music Canada, where they released their four-song EP “California Girl” in 2023.
Crash Adams was also named the top artist on TikTok Canada for two consecutive years and was noted as a Juno Award nominee for Breakthrough Group of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2024.
To this day, their success still extends to their second EP, “Crashing Into Your Living Room, Vol. 1,” which was released on March 22, 2024.
The event was made possible by Warner Music PH.
