Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are killing it with new song, ‘Die With A Smile’

Following days of speculation, the rumored collaboration of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars has finally arrived.

The international pop artists released a new duet titled “Die With A Smile” along with its vintage-themed music video today, on August 16.

The pair confirmed their collaboration on social media hours before dropping the song, posting the single’s cover art with them dressed in matching red and blue rodeo outfits.

“WHILE YOU WAIT TILL LG7…’DIE WITH A SMILE’ a duet with @brunomars,” the singer wrote in her caption on an Instagram post last August 15, referring to her upcoming seventh studio album.

Prior to releasing the track, both artists have been dropping hints about their surprise collaboration with them sporting shirts with their faces on them.

The video starts with Mars playing guitar and sings the first few lines from the song. As the camera pans out, Lady Gaga was shown smoking a cigarette while seated at a piano. Both artists were donning red and blue cowboy/cowgirl outfits showcasing impeccable harmonies with the band playing in the background. Their voices really worked together and while they have different tones, they complement one another. Both of them equally shine in this track.

The entire vibe of “Die With A Smile” evokes a strong sense of nostalgia, transporting listeners back to a bygone era. The song’s vintage aesthetic is skillfully crafted, blending the rich, warm sounds of classic tracks with the polished production and modern flair of today’s music. This seamless fusion creates an experience that feels both familiar and new.

The artists took full advantage of this opportunity to showcase their talents, allowing the instrumentation to shine in a way that enhances the song’s emotional depth. The use of live instruments, such as the guitar and piano, adds a layer of authenticity and warmth to the track, reminiscent of the golden days of analog recordings. Yet, despite the prominence of these instrumental elements, they never overpower the vocals. Instead, they provide a lush, supportive backdrop that lets the voices of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars take center stage.

Additionally, the music video is visually stunning, with effects that make it look as though it was filmed on an old video camera. This creates a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, perfectly complementing the song’s theme—a love song for the end of the world!

While this is their first time working together, it would not be a surprise if they make another collaboration in the future as their voices really work well with one another. This may be one of the best collaborations to date.
