In a recent Facebook post, GD Chan called out Albea, highlighting the irony of Albea’s criticism of the Miss Universe PH organization while allegedly neglecting his customers.

Chan’s frustration stems from a transaction initiated on July 10, 2022, when they paid a 60,000 PHP down payment for a sculpture, with the expectation of receiving the finished product within 2-3 weeks. However, the sculpture was only delivered on September 24, 2022, after the full payment of 120,000 PHP had been made.

Upon receiving the sculpture, Chan found it to be subpar and requested a revision. Albea agreed and retrieved the sculpture, promising a quick turnaround. Months later, despite numerous follow-ups, Chan neither received the revised sculpture nor a refund. This unresolved issue has persisted, with no resolution as of March 25, 2024.

Compounding the frustration, Chan’s attempts to seek redress through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) were stymied by Albea’s provision of a false address, hindering the progress of the formal complaint. The DTI staff confirmed the non-existence of the address given, further complicating the situation.

Chan’s initial review, posted on Reddit in December 2022, highlighted several critical issues, including the poor quality of Albea’s work, significant delays, and lack of communication. Despite the post being archived, Chan continues to receive messages from concerned individuals sharing similar experiences and seeking updates on the situation.
