P-pop girl group 4th Impact received backlash last March over irresponsible pet ownership, after the public has accused the group of ‘hoarding’ about 200 dogs and asking fans and the general public for help in caring for the animals.
The eldest member of the group, Almira, has since addressed the issue in a post on her Instagram account, which was aimed at protecting her family from cyber-bullying. She explained how their first five Shih Tzus were given by different people, and that they were unable to handle the mating of their pets. They also tried to give away the puppies.
She also explained that their attendance in Taylor Swift’s The Era tour, Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour, Bruno Mars’ concert, and Katy Perry’s show in Las Vegas were all made possible by their fans, who gifted them with tickets to the said shows.
Faced with difficulties in caring for their beloved dogs, as well as getting noise complaints from neighbors, the group decided to use GoFundMe to ask for help in providing a dream farm for their pets. “ I will do anything in [a] LEGAL WAY just to provide for our dogs,” she said.
Days after ‘false accusations’ started cropping up, Almira she deleted the post, and the funds were refunded to the donors immediately.
The member continued by letting everyone know that they would not be entertaining anything anymore with regards to the issue, leaving a firm message to followers: “We are NEVER irresponsible pet owners.” She also stated that they are busy providers for their whole family, which shows how responsible they are in their lives.
“Our DOGS are the only stress reliever[s] for us and [meant the world to us], so we will do anything to provide for them” and “We will work harder to buy them a FARM one day… it’s not gonna be easy, but I know we will get there!” she added.
Almira requested that people refrain from spreading hate on social media and to use the platform instead for good. The artist ended her message on a positive note, saying that they will never quit and that they will continue to pursue their dreams even though they were labeled as “4 impacts, no impact, Madam Inutz variants.” As long as they are not hurting and stepping on anyone, they are still proud of themselves for being the breadwinners of their families, they continued.
