Denise Julia is making things clear about the controversy involving her and renowned photographer BJ Pascual.
The singer shared her side of the story on her Instagram stories with screenshots of her conversations with her manager and the celebrity photographer.
She did note that Pascual’s team was slow to respond, and both parties could not come to an agreement on the budget.
Julia stated that her team had a ₱600,000 budget for the music video and ₱50,000 for the photoshoot that they forwarded to the photographer’s team last July 18.
The singer was keen to collaborate with the celebrity photographer being that she is a fan, with her team even pushing their deadlines to fit his schedule.
“BJ’s team did not get back to us about this budget despite my manager checking in and following up to make sure that teh budget is doable to begin with because we can’t really have a shoot date without us being sure if the budget was feasible for them,” the singer stated.
She added, “Because on our end, we understand if this is not something that they can work with. We would’ve pulled back immediately already from the start if they had only told us that this is not doable for them, that’s not the price range that they can work with. We will respect that and just move on and move past it and maybe work in the future for a different type of thing where both of us can align.”
Three weeks after the initial budget was submitted, they received an updated cost of ₱1.2 million.
Out of consideration for Pascual’s team and their time and effort, she also said that her management looked for ways to make the shoot work.
Also among the screenshots she has posted is her conversation with the photographer apologizing for what happened.
Upon seeing her Instagram stories, some seemingly switched sides on the issue after the singer had posted “receipts.”

I have no bias, but seeing the Denise Julia – BJ Pascual fiasco now, BJ's team is at fault. Like sending the updated budget 3 days before the shoot is so unprofessional rin, late rin naman???? Whereas DJ's side sending it way ahead and made adjustment way before the shoot starts.

Julia stated that she posted the screenshots to clarify the details that were not discussed in the podcast. Pascual sat down with Killa Kush for her podcast on December 20 where the photographer shared that Julia was the “worst celebrity/model” he has shot.
Julia has uploaded the screenshots in order to shed light on certain information that was left out of the podcast. However, just yesterday, Pascual posted a series of photos saying, says Denise Julia’s screenshots ‘do not reflect full context of what transpired.’ He included full screenshots of their conversation, showing that his team was supposedly able to adjust the expenses to meet the singer’s tbudget.
