Lola Amour to release self-titled debut album after a decade of crafting their sound

Lola Amour, an Indie-Rock band known for their creativity and authenticity, is gearing up to release their self-titled debut studio album after nearly a decade of honing their craft. This highly anticipated album offers a window into the band’s evolution, exploring themes of identity and self-discovery through introspective lyrics and infectious melodies.

During a recent conversation with the media, Lola Amour members opened up about the long-awaited album and the process behind its creation. Vocalist Pio Dumayas shared insights into the album’s inception, revealing that some of the songs had been brewing since 2014. However, unforeseen challenges, including the pandemic and lineup changes, delayed the project until now.

Scheduled for release on April 10, Lola Amour’s debut album comprises nine tracks, each serving as a testament to the band’s musical versatility and growth.

From the infectious rhythms of “Raining In Manila” to the heartfelt introspection of “Namimiss Ko Na,” the album promises a diverse range of emotions that resonate deeply with listeners.

Explaining the decision to self-title the album, Pio emphasized the band’s ongoing quest for identity and expression. “It felt right because there are so many sounds that we produced for this album,” he said, reflecting on the diverse sonic landscape captured within the record.

Bassist Raymond delved into the inspiration behind “Namimiss Ko Na,” a track that delves into themes of love and mental health. Initially conceived as a response to a previous hit, the song took on a poignant significance as Raymond drew from personal experiences, including his grandmother’s battle with Alzheimer’s.

As anticipation builds for the album’s release, Lola Amour is preparing to debut the music video for “Namimiss Ko Na,” offering fans a deeper insight into the song’s narrative and themes. The band also expressed gratitude for the profound connection their music has forged with listeners, acknowledging the role their songs play in reflecting and validating personal experiences.

With an album launch event scheduled for April 13, Lola Amour is poised to make a lasting impression on the Filipino music scene. As they continue to explore their sound and narrative, one thing remains certain: Lola Amour’s debut album is not just a collection of songs but a testament to the power of music in shaping and defining identity.
