‘Wanderland Festival 2024’: A magical weekend of music and art

The Wanderland Music and Arts Festival, held at Filinvest City Events Grounds on March 9 and 10, 2024, was indeed a whirlwind of music, art, and good vibes.

Day 1

Filipina pop star Ena Mori kicked off the festival, gracing the stage with her hit song “White Room” alongside bassist Zild Benitez. The energy soared with Gabba’s energetic set on the Karpos stage, followed by South Korean rapper Beenzino’s powerful beats that had the crowd jumping. Sydney-based duo Cosmo’s Midnight then brought whimsical vibes with their performance of “Fantasy” and surprised fans with a special guest appearance by Asta.

After the wild performances, Jazz artist Jose Miguel took a soulful and mellow turn. Local favorite Lola Amour took the stage, belting out their hits “Pwede ba,” “Raining in Manila,” “Maybe Maybe,” and “Fallen.” Parcels then made their Manila debut, captivating the crowd with their electro-pop sound and expressing their joy of performing together. Later that night, Novo Amor delivered a heartwarming set, connecting with the audience for the first time in Manila.

Jack Johnson, the man behind the beloved “Banana Pancakes,” finally graced the Filipino stage, apologizing for the long wait and showcasing his musical versatility with unique instruments. Beyond the music, attendees enjoyed the freedom wall, a space for artistic expression, and the live painting displays throughout the venue.

Day 2

The energy didn’t die down on Day 2. Local acts like DWTA, Party Pace, Paolo Sandejas, Grentperez, and Clouddriver kicked things off with vibrant sets.

International artists also took center stage, with The Walters, Hwasa, Jeff Bernat, PJ Morton, Breakbot, and Irfane delivering unforgettable performances.
Hwasa, a crowd favorite, expressed her love for the Filipino fans and promised a swift return.

Bernat then stole the show with his heartfelt performance, highlighting his Filipino heritage and serenading his parents who flew in for his first-ever Philippine concert. He promised a solo show in 2025 and further endeared himself to the audience by singing snippets of “Forevermore,” “Sana Maulit Muli,” and “When I Met You.”

Day 2

The main act of the day, Virtuoso bassist and singer Thundercat, completed the day by bringing his groove-heavy basslines to the music festival, drawing the crowd’s attention to his electrifying performances. Catching Thundercat live is an absolute must-see for enthusiasts of funky tunes.

Wanderland Festival 2024 truly lived up to its name, offering a wonderland of music, artistic expression, and unforgettable memories.
