Pakistani Swiftie breaks world record for identifying 34 Taylor Swift songs in 1 minute

Bilal Ilyas Jhandir broke the Guinness World Record for naming Taylor Swift songs in one minute.

The Pakistani Swiftie was able to name 34 songs, smashing the previous record of 27 made by Dan Simpson from the UK in 2019.

Swift’s top 50 best-selling songs were collated into a list in random order and he was asked to name each song from the first few lines of the lyrics that were read aloud without the music in the background.

“I have been listening to Taylor Swift since my childhood. I am a die-hard fan of her,” Bilal stated. “I have listened to each and every song of hers. I can identify almost any song of hers from the lyrics.”

Bilal believes that breaking this record is the “best way on Earth” to show his love for Taylor Swift who also has multiple Guinness World Record titles under her belt.

He revealed that he went into an “extensive listening session” that resulted in the songs becoming ingrained into his brain and says that he often recites the lyrics while he’s sleeping.

Although he prepared for this, he revealed that the lyrics being spoken aloud instead of being sung by Swift adds another layer of difficulty.

Prior to his recent record title, he received other Guinness World Record titles. Back in 2021, he received his first title, “Most animals identified in one minute” after naming 23 sounds, and just last year he broke the record for “Most Justin Bieber songs identified from their lyrics in one minute” naming 29 songs surpassing the previous record by seven.

“This record is my favorite of all of them,” he said. “Being called a ‘Certified Swiftie’ or ‘Officially Amazing Swiftie’ is such an incredible feeling.”
