Travel Tour Expo (TTE) 2024 is a marketplace for travel deals, exclusive discounts, and discounted packages. The event was held last February 2-4, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center and hosted more than 200 exhibitors and 702 booths that include airlines, domestic and international travel agencies and tour operators, hotels, and resorts, cruise liners and shipping, merchandisers, and more.
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Ma. Christina Garcia Frasco extolled PTAA and other tourism stakeholders for their invaluable contribution to the travel industry and the government’s collective nation-building efforts.
“For 2023, we managed to exceed expectations, by exceeding our international arrivals of 5.45M international visitors amounting to international visitor receipts of over PHP482B, a massive contribution to our economy,” said Frasco.
Prior to the pandemic, the country welcomed 8.26 million international visitors in 2019, according to DOT. In social media, the agency announced that there were 5.4M international tourists arrivals in 2023, exceeding their target of 4.8 million for the year.
