SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu reveals what his mother did when he was 15 after finding it tough to raise him

On the latest episode of “Nana Tour with SEVENTEEN,” member Kim Mingyu shared how he was raised when he was younger.

In the latter part of the episode, other members of the band and Na Young-suk PD were sitting on a café bench talking about different members, Mingyu confessed about how he was cast in Pledis saying that when he was an adolescent, his mom seemed like she had a hard time raising him and would even to go to churches praying that someone else would raise her son.

I guess her prayers were powerful because a week later, he got cast by Pledis Entertainment. He jokingly added that his mom got her wishes and that the agency continued to raise him.

“When I was 15 years old, I got in the rebellious phase. She had a hard time raising me. She said she went to pray at church, for someone to raise me instead of her. A week later I was casted. Pledis raised me instead. I was cured instantly. I missed my mom and realized how precious she was,” the SEVENTEEN member revealed.

Mingyu’s mother was lifted off her duties as entertainment agencies usually cover their trainee’s needs such as their residence and food along with their lessons and training. Still, the idol then realized how much he loved and appreciated his mother while he was training.

Fans took to social media to express what they thought about Mingyu’s confession on the show.

Jokingly, one of the staff members added that his mother instantly got rid of his rebellious phase. Mingyu stated that his phase quickly dissolved and started to miss his mother and thought about how precious she was back in his trainee period.
