No one else would have thought of celebrating Christmas in this way, well, except South Korea.
December 25 is always a day for many to celebrate, have fun, and eat and drink good food and drinks with family and friends. Different countries have their own way of celebrating Christmas, some are more religious while others may just be more on the cultural aspect of it.
And there’s nothing wrong with having different ways of welcoming a day that symbolizes hope (biblically speaking), it’s quite comforting that each country and culture has its own way of celebrating something rooted in religion. That’s why many of us consider Christmas to be our favorite holiday.
In South Korea, it’s nothing less than festive. They even amped up the celebrations by holding their very own cup sleeve event to celebrate the birth of Jesus. A.K.A., it was #HappyJESUSDay – complete with a photobooth, photocards, and other merch.
And apparently, it’s not the first time the café has done this.

Of course, many people on the internet were surprised but, nevertheless, found it quirky and original—totally valid. For Filipinos that had fun reactions to it, it was equal to “minus langit points.”

We bet even the non-religious would want to attend this cup sleeve event. Oh, and if you’re not familiar with the concept of a cup sleeve event, it’s where fandoms of K-Pop groups or artists hold an event in a coffee shop where you buy an item worth a specific amount, and they give you a cup sleeve for your drink.
That’s basically it. Well, once again, Happy Birthday Jesus!
