As she was wrapping up the first leg of The Eras Tour with her final show in São Paulo, Brazil, on Sunday, November 26, Taylor Swift announced to concert-goers that she was willing to perform and repeat any of her tracks in the surprise song section of her tour.
She told fans, “I decided that in 2024, when we go back on tour, I’m just gonna open back up all the songs for surprise songs.”
Throughout Swift’s Eras Tour, she has been surprising fans in every city by singing different songs from her vault or bonus tracks. However, the 33-year-old pop superstar wants to shake things up even more with her rule change, and also include older songs in the setlist.
“I feel like, for one year, we’ve really gotten through a lot of songs, so I’m just gonna make all the songs fair game when we go back on tour. There’s some songs that I still really, really wanna play, so I’m gonna try and get through all of them,” she continued.
The last two surprise songs of 2023 that Swift played were “Say Don’t Go” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and “It’s Time to Go” from Evermore.

In April, she revealed that her plan going forward was to do certain songs as many times as she likes during the mini acoustic set of her next live shows.
“When I started the tour, I said, ‘In the acoustic section, I am never repeating a song. I’m never doing songs more than once.’ But now I’m like, ‘Ugh, there are so many songs I want to do more than once.’”
The singer also explained that she is making a “little caveat” to her rule when it comes to repeating tracks on ‘Midnights.’
“If [a song] is on Midnights, I can do it however many times I want because Midnights is the most accurate picture of my life to date.”
The Eras Tour will continue its historic run on February 7, 2024, in Tokyo, Japan.
New dates were recently added to the Canadian leg of the tour, extending the shows through December 2024.
