ODD EYE CIRCLE has come full circle with their newest release, ‘Version Up’

ODD EYE CIRCLE is so back.

On July 12, 2023, Modhaus and the ARTMS Strategy has released ODD EYE CIRCLE’s newest EP, ‘Version Up’. The LOONA sub-unit’s “re-debut” EP under agency Modhaus was accompanied with the music video for the EP’s title track, ‘Air Force One’. The music video had been released first—being officially posted at 12 M.N. KST with the entire EP at 6 P.M. KST.

This release from the 3-member sub-unit, also known as OEC, consisting of members JinSoul, Kim Lip, and Choerry, is their first one since 2017, with their EP ‘Max & Match.’

In March of this year, LOONA members HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry had ended their exclusive contracts with BlockBerry Creative following their legal win and signed with Modhaus, co-founded by Jaden Jeong—LOONA’s former A&R, creative director, and music producer from 2016 to 2019.

The four were later on introduced as part of the agency’s “ARTMS Strategy”, with member HaSeul later on joining after winning her legal battle with their former agency.

According to Modhaus and the ARTMS Strategy’s description for ‘Version Up,’ ODD EYE CIRCLE is the first project under the ARTMS Strategy to be “rebooted”. “Starting with the girls’ independent music, “Girl Front”, they have previously dominated the most unique style in K-Pop history. Now, they gathered once again to prepare an album.”

“Air Force One” is the title track from OEC’s newest EP and was described as a “Jersey Club genre song encapsulating ODD EYE CIRCLE’s new style while embodying the girls’ healthy steps.” According to member Kim Lip, who had also participated in the lyrics composition, “Converse was our signature shoe that we wore during the LOONA days. However, wearing the [Nike] Air Force Ones now, it kind of symbolizes our new start as a group by changing our symbol shoes.”

The music video for ‘Air Force One’ sees the OEC members clad in classy black and white outfits with matching eyepatches. Each of the members were also seen with their own action scenes, and fellow ARTMS project and LOONA member HeeJin made a cameo in the music video. The music video also included references to the LOONAverse lore which eagle-eyed Orbits were able to see.

Orbits were definitely waiting for this, and are obviously more than elated to see the LOONA members thriving.

This is just the beginning for each of the LOONA members’ comebacks. It’s all beginning with ODD EYE CIRCLE’s return to slay.
