Climathon Pasig 2023: A 15-hour climate hackathon

Pasig City will host its fifth Climathon Pasig event on August 19, 2023, at the Pasig City Revolving Tower from 7 am to 10 pm.  This is a 15-hour climate solutions hackathon where people from different sectors will work together to answer a design challenge and create ideas for local climate impact.

New year, new climate challenges to tackle

Climathon Pasig 2023 aims to inspire and empower the Pasig community to take action against climate change by providing a platform for collaboration and innovation.

In its fifth year, the design challenge participants will tackle centers on an inclusive Circular Economy.

The Design Challenge: “How might we create an inclusive circular business model that is financially viable and accessible for Pasig MSMEs and Market Vendors while also promoting social and environmental sustainability?”

Participants are encouraged to develop strategies, processes, or systems that help Pasig’s MSMEs and market vendors produce or purchase goods and services sustainably. This includes reducing the consumption and waste of resources such as raw materials, water, and energy and minimizing waste production.

These climate solutions should not only support the circular economy but also ensure that they protect the environment and benefit society.

What to expect during the 15-hour hackathon

Participants will have a unique experience working with leading climate experts and advocates to co-create new ideas or improve existing climate initiatives and policies. Not only that, but it includes coaching, mentorship sessions, and a hackathon full of ideas where teams present their winning climate solutions to a panel of judges.

The winning team will have the chance to work with the city government and other stakeholders and the opportunity to implement a pilot of their winning climate solution in their own business in Pasig City.

Registration and Participation

This event calls for Pasig-based MSME business owners and market vendors. Others, such as professionals, policymakers, climate activists, and creative thinkers, are also welcome to participate.
