A’TINs react to SB19’s newest single, ‘GENTO’

Popular P-pop group SB19 released their newest single “GENTO” on Friday, May 19.

“Gento,” the title of the song, is said to be a creative word play of different Filipino words such as “Ginto” (Gold), “Ganito” (like this), and “Gento,” which is a Caviteño word for “Ganito.”

The single was released ahead of the group’s extended play (EP) “PAGTATAG!” which is set to be released on June 9. The trailer for this extended play was dropped on April 29.

The group is also set to begin their world tour, which will begin on June 24 and 25 in Manila. SB19 will also fly to the United States and Canada for this tour.

Following the release of the song’s music video, the phrase “DI KA BASTA MAKAKAKITA NITO” became a trending topic on Twitter as A’TIN, the fandom of the P-pop group, as well as other users online, expressed their joy and amusement towards the newest single.

“Seeing SB19 members themselves as the executive producers of their own music makes me so proud of how far they’ve come as artists,” a fan said in a tweet.

“The concept of bringing the Filipino home to mining is GOLD! SB19 shows no sign of slowing down! Dig deeper golden moments. Yassss!” another fan tweeted.

Many tweets are mixed reactions of being proud of each member and showing appreciation of the fans for the group’s single. Here are some of the tweets that fans of SB19 made about their single ‘GENTO’:
