BABYMONSTER releases pre-debut track ‘DREAM’

Up-and-coming K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER has just released the music video for their pre-debut track titled “DREAM”.

The music video was uploaded on May 13 on their YouTube channel. The video already has 16 million views as of writing.

The video features a screening montage of the members Ahyeon, Ruka, Chiquita, Haram, Pharita, Rora, and Asa.

The first verse covers the group’s doubts about whether they will ever make it to stardom. But as it turns out, they made a promise that they would never run and hide. The group sings the chorus triumphantly.

It can be recalled that on May 12, YG Entertainment revealed a new seven-member group. The announcement prior to that claimed that the new group would consist of five members.

Yang Hyun-suk, the founder and executive producer of the talent agency, was the one who announced the introduction in a video that was uploaded on the talent agency’s YouTube channel.

“So many fans, around 99 percent of them, wanted all seven members to debut together. As a producer, I was confused about whether I should go as I had initially planned or take your opinions into account for the decision,” said Yang.

Yang also clarified in the video that the first five members he announced were picked by YG Entertainment, while the other two were picked by fans.

“We decided to take all seven of them. The first five members were selected by YG. Rora and Asa are chosen by the fans,” he added.

YG Entertainment is a Korean entertainment agency that also manages other K-pop groups like BigBang, BLACKPINK, and Treasure.
