The 20th anniversary production of Juan Ekis’ Twenty Questions opens May 12

Theatre Titas’ much awaited production after the pandemic is slated for May this year. It is a one-act play by Palanca award winning playwright Juan Ekis called Twenty Questions. Penned in 2003, the play finds college friends Jigs and Yumi locked in a hotel room for 24 hours as part of an annual barkada tradition. To pass the time, they partake in a game of twenty questions, which forces them to open up to each other and talk about their views on love, life, and sex.

Theatre Titas aims to produce plays that ask questions and urge Gen Zers to engage in open and meaningful conversations. “Let’s get the new generation to the theatre.” Twenty Questions is a beloved play and has been staged numerous times throughout the years. To celebrate its 20th year, and with the blessing of the playwright himself, 20Q gets a modern treatment by director Cheese Mendez. This new interpretation explores how the ideas about relationships written two decades ago might resonate with a younger audience with a more modern point of view.

“I’m so looking forward to this version of the play, directed by a dear friend, and GenZfied for today’s audiences. Only one way to find out if this game is still worth playing or if it can still win hearts. Come, watch with me, let’s fall in love again.” Juan Ekis says.

Twenty Questions stars Diego Aranda (Quest for the Adarna, Joseph the Dreamer, Antonio & Perfecto) as Jigs, and introduces Isabelle Prado in her professional theatrical debut as Yumi.

The 20th Anniversary production of Juan Ekis’ Twenty Questions runs weekends from May 12 – 28, 2023, with matinées on Sundays at Mirror Studio Theatre in Brgy Poblacion, Makati.

Tickets can be purchased for P600 each at Ticket2Me at https://ticket2me.net/e/36838

Twenty Questions is co-presented by QUICKFX, in partnership with Three Hens Wine and Atomm Studios.
