Elon Musk is putting his money where his mouth is by offering one million Dogecoins to anyone who can prove the internet rumor that his family owns an emerald mine.
The rumor about Musk’s family owning an emerald mine has been around for some time, but the billionaire has consistently denied it. When a Twitter user offered 69.420 Dogecoin to anyone who could prove the mine’s existence, Musk upped the ante by offering a million Dogecoins, which is worth around £71,500 in GBP.
Elon Musk never owned an emerald mine. @elonmusk
An open offer of 69.420 Doge to all the media outlets who are publishing false information. Send me a proof of its existence & take your doge. 🤣

It’s not that he needs to prove his wealth, considering he’s worth almost $200 billion, but Musk has always maintained that the ’emerald mine’ stories and statements to be false.
I will pay a million Dogecoin for proof of this mine’s existence!

Of course, many people have tried to come up with evidence, including a deleted Forbes interview from 2014 where Musk allegedly mentions the mine.

But so far, no one has been able to provide solid proof.
Musk has consistently proclaimed that he had made his way up from humble beginnings, and he’s always been known to to ‘set the records straight’ by providing his narrative regarding this matter. The billionaire has repeatedly mentioned that he worked his way through where he is now, via Twitter since 2018.
He didn’t own an emerald mine & I worked my way through college, ending up ~$100k in student debt. I couldn’t even afford a 2nd PC at Zip2, so programmed at night & website only worked during day. Where is this bs coming from?
