There’s no doubt that Big Latto pulled out an impressive performance at Coachella over the weekend. Yet, some social media users are accusing the rapper of editing a photo of her Coachella crowd, which she posted on Instagram.
The Best New Artist Grammy nominee was one of the biggest artists to perform in one of the greatest music festivals in the world. As previously reported, she was part of the Sunday lineup of this year’s edition of the event’s first weekend. However, just a few days after performing in front of a huge crowd, a snap of her audience made the rounds online when social media users noticed that the said photo was Photoshopped and there were duplicates of the crowd members.
Allegations about the photo taken from the stage being replicated in the crowd on both edges to make it appear larger than it actually was have caused a debate between critics and supporters. Many internet users expressed their dismay regarding the issue.

Everything outside this red box is photoshop content aware filled. Again, just the photographer wanting the shot to be framed differently. Crowd only got like 5% bigger. And she sure as hell wasn’t the one on photoshop doing it lmfao pic.twitter.com/sgWHmpbijU

the entire left and right edges of the photo are altered. It doesn't make sense for it to be just increasing the crowd because the rafters are also edited near the top. Can't really tell why they'd do that unless it was a bad editor

This is so embarrasing omg

imagine going to Coachella to have fun and then finding out latto multiplied your face to make it seem like the crowd was packed pic.twitter.com/h6QqMQzr94

Honestly, who cares, they do this all the time in promotional ads to make the crowed look bigger. What I’m mad about it the terrible ps job.

Some even claimed that they received an offer to scream during Latto’s set in exchange for money.
i was at Coachella and Latto’s team offered to pay a couple of us money so we can scream and become extra excited during her set. I declined tbh as im not a fan of hers.

Shortly after the backlash, the singer’s fans turned down the speculations, saying that she didn’t have to edit the photo because there was no reason for her to fake it.
Why would she photoshop??? This video shows the whole crowd pic.twitter.com/vh6l2KrAuF

It's not photoshopped…. Snapseed did her dirty pic.twitter.com/RXwSqyth0D

She didn't photoshop the crowd to deceive, she only extended the photo with content aware, from top to left and right, so it would be in the required “frame size” of the social media platform she wants to post it. pic.twitter.com/9DzuAPzfRa

All she did was just extend the photo by a tiny margin so it would be centered for her so ial media.
Y'all are reaching, there's nothing wrong with this, it actually makes me like her for caring about composition pic.twitter.com/cyt8kCVlhy— Snarebear (@dragsnarebear) April 18, 2023
She didn’t photoshop the crowed, she stacked the same photo on top of one another to fit the full image on Instagram

Lol you can tell it’s a border effect on the photo. Not photoshopped, look at the speaker in front of that person and the other side of the stage.. and the top of the photo..

On April 18, Latto took to social media and broke her silence to shut down false accusations about her.
“Never photoshopped a crowd lmao. I expanded it so it would for in my Instagram swipe without getting cut off but it was clearly f—ed up so I didn’t end up using it & just posted the wrong version by accident on Twitter babes,” she wrote on her Instagram stories.
Latto then ended her statement by writing the word, ‘Next’, along with a smiling emoji surrounded by many hearts.
Joining Latto on Sunday’s line-up of Coachella performers are Kali Uchis, Jackson Wang, Rae Sremmurd, and many more.
