IVE confidently shouts ‘I AM’ for their latest album

On April 10, 2023, IVE made their highly anticipated return to the K-Pop music scene with their first studio album titled, “I’ve Ive,” along with the music video for its title track, “I AM.” Their first studio album comes 1 year and 4 months after IVE’s debut back in 2021.

“I’ve Ive” consists of 11 tracks, with 2 singles. “Kitsch” had been pre-released on March 27, 2023, and had received an All-Kill certification after topping all music charts in South Korea. Other tracks in the album such as “Blue Blood” and “Not Your Girl” had been performed by the girl group during their first concert, “The Prom Queens” last February 11 and 12, 2023.

“I AM,” the album’s lead single, is described on Soompi as a song that expresses “taking on an independent attitude to life while being certain about the path you take,” and “conveys a message of finding a new “me” that is different from yesterday.”

The music video sees the IVE members in sleek black-and-white outfits that exudes their “royal teen crush” image that is reminiscent to their looks in their debut—but elevated.

The album also sees the participation of the members in lyric-writing, specifically members Wonyoung, Yujin, Gaeul, and Rei. Ryan S. Jhun, who the group had previously worked on for their tracks, “Eleven,” “After Like,” and “My Satisfaction” also participated in the album’s composition.

DIVEs were definitely happy with IVE’s newest album, especially with the fair line distribution among the members for their lead single, “I AM.”
