Jisoo officially starts filming of solo MV–the most expensive among all BLACKPINK videos

Jisoo of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has started filming the music video for her new song.

YG Entertainment announced on February 21, KST “The music video for Jisoo’s solo song is being filmed in an overseas location in strict secrecy. You can look forward to it as we invested the largest production cost ever among BLACKPINK videos.”

The news comes just over a month after Jisoo and YG Entertainment shared that the BLACKPINK singer would be making her solo debut in 2023.

Jisoo has gone to extreme lengths to keep her promise to her fans and has been working diligently behind the scenes. Rumors are circulating that despite her busy schedule with the world tour, she put extra effort into taking time to record herself for the album.

YG has said that they plan to shoot the music video in different places around the world so that Jisoo, who will be reborn as a solo artist through her debut, will get the most attention possible.

Details such as the title, tracklist, and release date of Jisoo’s debut solo record are yet to be announced.

BLACKPINK has broken several records with  their albums and every time individual members released their solo projects. With Jisoo being the final member to release a solo project, the expectations for her debut are quite high. Jennie was the first member of the group to release her solo album in 2018 with her single ‘Solo’, followed by Rosé and Lisa in 2021 with the single albums ‘R’ and ‘Lalisa,’ respectively.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently holding the largest K-pop girl group world tour, ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]’, attracting millions of concertgoers.
