David Guetta uses Eminem’s deep fake voice in his latest track, says ‘future of music is in AI’

Music producer David Guetta believes that the ‘future of music is in AI’ after using artificial intelligence and deep fake tools to replicate famous rapper Eminem’s voice in his newest song, labeling it ‘Em-AI-nem’.

On February 3, the crowd went wild with the live performance of the French DJ featuring the 50-year-old rapper’s synthetic vocals. Guetta shared a clip of the said live show on his Twitter account, garnering mixed reactions and replies from online users.

Guetta said in the video footage that he used two AI websites to make Eminem’s fake voice.

“There’s something I made as a joke, and it worked so [well] I could not believe it! I discovered [these] websites that are about AI. Basically, you can write lyrics in any artist’s style. So I typed ‘write a verse in the style of Eminem about Future Rave,’ and I went to another AI website that can recreate the voice. I put the text in that, and I played the record, and people went nuts,” the Grammy-nominated artist explained.

Guetta didn’t reveal which ones he used, but some people believed that he used ChatGPT to write the lyrics and FakeYou or Uberduck for the sound manipulation. The musician clarified that he has no plans to commercially release the track, but he claims that AI is going to be the next big thing in the EDM scene.

Meanwhile, online users gathered in Guetta’s tweet to express various concerns.

“At same time cool and scary. So many people will lose job next couple years. Artists are in danger, workers are in danger. Plandemic seems more natural now, doesn’t it?,” a Twitter user said.

“Future Rave using futuristic technology… seems pretty accurate right,” another tweeted.

“Everyone can be a musician nowadays, thanks to AI technology,” one replied.

Take a look at the other replies on Guetta’s ‘Emin-AI-nem’ track:

It’s unclear whether Eminem, Marshall Mathers III in real life, has consented to the use of his voice via AI.
