TWICE’s Tzuyu reveals she holds a master’s degree in Applied Psychology amid busy schedule

TWICE member Tzuyu recently confirmed that she has earned a master’s degree in psychology.

Rumors have been circulating about her scholastic achievements after a flyer showcasing her accomplishments from her elementary school was uploaded online.

The flyer was created in celebration of Fuxing Elementary School’s 30th anniversary. The Taipei-based school highlighted the accomplishments of Tzuyu, whose real name is Chou Tzu-yu, along with other prominent alumni.

These accomplishments include her graduation from Hanlim Arts High School, her recognition among TC Candler’s most attractive faces, and her debut as Twice’s third soloist (following Jihyo and Nayeon).

It was Tzuyu’s masters degree in applied psychology from Miguel de Cervantes European University in Spain, however, that attracted the most attention.

Given the K-pop idol’s hectic schedule over the previous years, some questioned the flyer’s authenticity.

Tzuyu, however, dispelled the rumors in a recent fan call with a user on X (formerly Twitter).

In response to the question about whether or not she had earned her master’s degree, Tzuyu said, “Yes. Whenever I was free, I would go online to study.”

She went on to say that she spent more than a year studying for the degree.

K-pop stans shared their praises of Tzuyu’s achievement on social media.

One user wrote, “The more admirable thing about tzuyu is that she’s been really lowkey & private about this achievement like it seems that she didn’t get that degree just to flex it so people could call her a degree holder but she’s just really interested to know everything about psychology.”

Another user wrote, “Tzuyu got the beauty and brains. Congrats on your bachelor and masters degree!”

Twice collaborated with rapper Megan Thee Stallion on the girl group’s title track on the recently released 14th mini album, Strategy. With the album debuting at number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart, Twice became the first K-pop girl group to have six albums in the top 10.
