From being a plumber and a mechanical engineer, to a superhero and a dinosaur expert, Chris Pratt has played numerous roles in his acting career. Now, while his resume didn’t include being a beekeeper, Pratt did attempt to control bees.
And what did he get? A bee-ry painful lesson.
On December 21, the Guardians of the Galaxy star took to Instagram to vent out about having a bee sting in the eyeball. In the video, Pratt is seen wearing shades while telling his followers about the recent incident.
“So I’ve been following this bee lady on Instagram. She’s so cool and brave,” Pratt said in a video, referring to professional beekeeper Erika Thompson, who chronicles her life as a beekeeper and shares it on social media platforms. “She goes in front of these hives and bees and says, ‘They’re very calm today. I’m going to remove the bee. I’m going to use my bare hands to sift through the bees and look for the queen.’”
After watching the clip, Pratt then said how the video “built up this false sense of security” in him and went on to attempt to handle and control the bees in his own backyard.
“I said, ‘I think I can control bees, too.’ So I saw a beehive two days ago. I just stared at these bees and then one of them came out, and it stung me in the eyeball,” Pratt shared.
The Jurassic World actor took off his sunglasses and showed his swollen left eye. “So anyways, f*ck that bee lady,” Pratt continued.
He also accompanied the video with a caption that says: “@texasbeeworks you inspire me! But for real tho…” and tagged Thompson.
Despite the unfortunate incident that happened, Pratt’s fellow actors, and fans flooded the comments section with laughter and sympathy. Even people over Twitter made fun of the Marvel Cinematic Universe star after he retold his story about how he got his injury.

Pratt’s friends and fans aren’t the only ones who left a sassy comment over the actor’s unfortunate situation, Thompson herself basically told Pratt to leave the bees alone.
“Wait—so now you’re going to be a plumber and a beekeeper, @prattprattpratt?! If you leave saving the bees to me and other professionals, you can focus on saving the Princess, Mario,” Thompson wrote, referencing Pratt’s upcoming role as Mario in the animated film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Chris really thought he could get Andy Dwyer his way to the bees, eh?
Well, you heard the expert, Chris: mind your own bee-siness and bee careful around beehives the next time you’re around them!
