Poem feature: ‘What wasn’t left unsaid’

POP!’s senior writer, Gari Custodio, has penned a poem that’s inspired by a night of secrets and revelations. Here it is:

‘What wasn’t left unsaid’

The wind mingled through the trees
Mixed with the words dripping from our lips
Adding another layer of coolness to the breeze

The moon glowed
Into every nook and cranny of our souls
Yet, thoughts that were never meant to see
the light, outshone the moon.

The wine was sweet as the conversation turned
sour. With each glass poured, a new moment in
time was devoured.

A bond forged with the blood of secrets spilled
Either dies with those present or with the knife in
Caesar’s back, held by Brutus, the honorable man
