Put on your detective hat and trench coat because Millie Bobby Brown is back to solve another mystery in Enola Holmes 2.
On August 18, the official Instagram account of Enola Holmes dropped a series of photos of the film’s sequel, giving fans the first glimpse of the new adventures that await them.
In one photo, Brown seemed to be distraught while sitting inside a carriage and handcuffs tied to her wrists.
In another photo, Brown is also seen with Helena Bonham Carter who both appeared to be in hiding.
Other stills from the film also showed Henry Cavill reading a newspaper and standing in the middle of the street.
Apart from the new stills, the film’s account also released a teaser poster for Enola Holmes 2, which appeared to be inspired by Where’s Waldo?.
Taking place right after the events from the first film—searching for her mother and helping a runaway lord, Enola Holmes 2 follows Enola’s new journey as a detective-for-hire.
The official synopsis of Enola Holmes 2 reads: “Now a detective-for-hire like her infamous brother, Enola Holmes takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to unravel.”
Both Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2 are based on American author Nancy Springer’s books The Case of the Missing Marquess and The Case of the Left-Handed Lady, respectively. Both books are part of Springer’s series, The Enola Holmes Mysteries.
The news about Enola Holmes 2 was confirmed back in May 2021, with some of the original cast returning to reprise their roles. Brown played the titular character, Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Carter as Eudoria Holmes, and Louis Partridge as Viscount Tewkesbury. They are joined by Dune star Sharon Duncan-Brewster whose role in the film is not yet disclosed.
The upcoming film is directed by Harry Bradbeer, who also helmed the first film, and penned by screenwriter Jack Thorne.
Enola Holmes 2 is set to be available for streaming on November 4, 2022.
