Rolling Stone features BINI among international emerging artists

It looks like BINI is on their way toward global music stardom! The Pinoy pop girl group has been featured in Rolling Stone as they have been recognized as one of the “International Artists on the Horizon” through Spotify’s 2022 RADAR program.

The girls have also landed on a digital billboard at New York Times Square as part of the music streaming platform’s program.

The eight-piece “Nation’s Girl Group”—consists of Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Johanna, Maloi, Mikha, Stacey, and Sheena—is the only South Asian act to be included in the list through their latest hit single, “Pit A Pat.”

Rolling Stone described BINI as having “a loud, vibrant, sugar-coated vibe that is only second to their commanding, ear-grabbing style.”

The US iconic music magazine also called “Pit A Pat” as a “summer anthem” that’s not only filled with attitude and optimism, but also sees the girls “singing confidently about empowerment, respect, and ambition.”

This isn’t the only milestone BINI reached ahead of their first-anniversary celebration on June 11, 2022.

On June 8, the girls dropped the official music video for their song, “Na Na Na.” Apart from this, they are among the Filipino acts whose songs are bound for the moon through the Lunar Codex time capsules to be launched in 2023.

BINI is also set to take center stage on July 22, 2022, for the “BE YOU: The World Will Adjust” concert, along with their sibling group BGYO, Lady Pipay, and South Korean girl group Red Velvet.

Formed through Star Hunt Academy, BINI first broke through in the P-pop music scene in 2020, releasing their pre-debut single “Da Coconut Nut” on November 20, 2020. The group then officially debuted on June 11, 2021, along with their single, “Born to Win.”

BINI is the latest Filipino act to be included in the music streaming platform’s program, which aims to introduce international emerging artists to a global community of listeners. In 2021, Filipino singer-songwriter Zack Tabudlo was also featured in the same program with his single, “Binibini.”
