How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has issued an apology for the creepy and controversial Amy Winehouse-inspired “corpse meat platter” from 11 years ago, which has recently resurfaced.

The controversial meat platter was from a Halloween party hosted by Harris and his husband, David Burtka, back in 2011. At the party, Harris and Burtka featured this creepy meat platter, just three months after the unfortunate death of the famous singer, Amy Winehouse. The platter was decorated to look like the late singer’s corpse, and had a small sign placed next to it that says, “The Corpse of Amy Winehouse.”

With all the hate comments and the backlash he has received until now, Harris offered his heartfelt apologies to the public.

“A photo recently resurfaced from a Halloween-themed party my husband, and I hosted 11 years ago,” Harris told Entertainment Weekly in his statement. “It was regrettable then, and it remains regrettable now. Amy Winehouse was a once-in-a-generation talent, and I’m sorry for any hurt this image caused.”

Amy Winehouse was a talented British renowned singer. She overcame different challenges in her life such as her drug and alcohol addiction, self-harm, depression, and eating disorders. In 2011, Winehouse died at the age of 27 due to alcohol poisoning. /TV
