AESPA to perform at Coachella 2022 this weekend, April 24

aespa’s achievements as a 4th Generation K-Pop Girl Group sees no end in sight; not only are they one of the most awarded K-Pop groups of their generation, and now they are the first K-Pop group to have been formally invited to headline the main stage of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’s second weekend.

This confirmation comes after the immensely popular girl group’s activities in the U.S. have been the topic of discussion by fans on social media. Some have been speculating aespa’s attendance in the famous music festival thanks to their Instagram stories about flying to California, what to eat in L.A., what to bring, and what the weather would be like.

SM Entertainment’s meta-verse girl group was confirmed to perform their hits “Black Mamba”, “Next Level”, “Savage”, and a new unreleased song. Technically, aespa isn’t the first K-Pop girl group to perform at Coachella, following BLACKPINK in 2019 at the Sahara Stage and 2NE1 at the “Head in the Clouds” set earlier this week. But, they are the first K-Pop group to perform on the music festival’s main stage.

With aespa joining the likes of GOT7’s Jackson, Epik High, BIBI, and the surprise reunion of 2NE1, Coachella is looking more and more like a K-Pop festival lowkey. MYs couldn’t obviously their excitement at the news of aespa’s upcoming stage later this week, and the TLs have been filled with Tweets and memes about the girl group’s appearance at Coachella.

Yup, aespa are that big now. MYs and the entirety of K-Pop fans on Twitter are just on the edge of their seats just waiting for April 23rd (U.S. time; April 24th for Asia) to come, and for aespa to slay the stage as always.

(Hi SM Entertainment, please let aespa have “aenergy” as their intro song at Coachella)
